ICRC Appreciates Russian Troops’ Professionalism in Aleppo - President

The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) appreciates the professionalism demonstrated by Russian servicemen in Aleppo and hopes such contacts will improve joint work in the future, ICRC President Peter Maurer told Sputnik.

GENEVA (Sputnik) – The official stressed that ICRC appreciated Russia’s “seriousness and professionalism.”

“In and around Aleppo, we had now operational contacts with Russia which go far beyond what we had before. What I can say is that ICRC appreciates these contacts, we are certainly satisfied by the professionalism of the Russian militaries on the ground and interaction that we have with the Russian militaries and in that respect I would hope that this cooperation bit which has become operational around Aleppo will allow us to do even better in the future,” Maurer said.
