Neither Russia nor the United States are interested in further deterioration of bilateral ties and sooner or later the relationship will get back to normal, Russian Security Council Secretary Nikolai Patrushev told Sputnik.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Russia is ready to cooperate with the United States on an equitable basis despite being classified as one of the US' biggest national security threats, Russian Security Council Secretary Nikolai Patrushev told Sputnik.

"We are ready to work with the US partners on the basis of equality and mutual respect for each other's interests. In the meantime, Russia is on the list among the major threats to US national security," Patrushev said.

Neither Russia nor the United States are interested in further deterioration of bilateral ties and sooner or later the relationship will get back to normal, Patrushev told Sputnik.

"The contemporary history experience has shown that sooner or later the US-Russian relations will get back on track, all the more since further deterioration of bilateral relations does not satisfy either Moscow’s or Washington’s interests," Patrushev said.
