US Secretary of State John Kerry and Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov agreed on the urgent need for humanitarian aid to begin flowing in Syria, according to US Department of State spokesperson John Kirby.

WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — US Secretary of State John Kerry and Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov have agreed in a phone call on the importance of starting humanitarian aid deliveries in Syria, US Department of State spokesperson John Kirby said in a release on Friday.

"They agreed on the urgent need for humanitarian aid to begin flowing," Kirby stated. "The Secretary made clear that the United States will not establish the Joint Implementation Center with Russia unless and until the agreed terms for humanitarian access are met."
