Kerry to Travel to Saudi Arabia, France to Discuss Syria, Yemen Crises

The US Department of State announced that John Kerry will visit Saudi and France this week to discuss with senior officials the crises in Syria and Yemen as well as other matters pertaining to cooperation.

WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — Secretary of State John Kerry will visit Saudi and France this week to discuss with senior officials the crises in Syria and Yemen as well as other matters pertaining to cooperation, the US Department of State announced in a statement on Thursday.

"Secretary of State John Kerry will travel March 11 to Hafar al-Batin, Saudi Arabia to meet with senior government officials to discuss a variety of topics, including efforts to resolve the crises in Syria and Yemen, as well as other regional security issues," the State Department said. "On March 12-13, Secretary Kerry will travel to Paris."

In Paris, Kerry plans to meet with French Foreign Minister Jean-Marc Ayrault, UK Foreign Secretary Philip Hammond, German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier, Italian Foreign Minister Paolo Gentiloni and EU High Representative Federica Mogherini to discuss "ongoing cooperation on a wide range of bilateral, regional, and global issues," the State Department said.
