White House Announces Biden's Talks With Poroshenko, Yatsenyuk in December

US Vice President Joe Biden will travel to Ukraine in December to meet with the country’s President Petro Poroshenko, Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk as well as representatives of non-governmental organizations, the White House announced in a statement on Friday.

WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — Biden’s visit in December will make it his fifth trip to Ukraine since he had came to office in 2009, the White House added.

"Vice President Joe Biden will travel to Ukraine the week of December 7th, 2015. The Vice President will meet with President Poroshenko, Prime Minister Yatsenyuk, members of the Rada, and representatives of civil society organizations," the White House stated.

The United States has been providing Ukraine with economic and military aid following the 2014 political crisis, while top State and Treasury department officials have visited the country many times since.

Moreover, Washington has provided Kiev with more than $266 million in military equipment and training, while the International Monetary Fund has pledged to give Kiev some $17 billion in loans over a two-year period.
