US Deputy State Secretary Blinken to Travel to Paris for Talks on Syria

US Deputy Secretary of State Antony Blinken will take part in negotiations on settling the Syrian conflict in the French capital of Paris, the US Department of State schedule said on Tuesday.

WASHINGTON (Sputnik) – State Department spokesman John Kirby said on Monday State Secretary John Kerry will not attend the Paris talks on Tuesday.

"Deputy Secretary Blinken is on travel to Paris, France for a multilateral meeting, convened by the French government, to discuss efforts to resolve the crisis in Syria," the State Department schedule stated.

According to reports, the meeting will be attended by representatives of France, Germany, the United Kingdom, the United States, Saudi Arabia, and other regional partners.
