Russian authorities have a channel of communication with the Taliban in case there is a need to pass on an information, head of the Russian Foreign Ministry's Second Asia Department Zamir Kabulov said Monday.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Earlier in the day, The Daily Beast reported, citing a member of the Taliban's military committee, that the group could not rule out cooperation with Russia, depending on the situation in the Middle East.

"We have a channel of communication with the Taliban in case we want to pass something on to them, but I don't know what The Daily Beast means," Kabulov told RIA Novosti.
