Russian President Vladimir Putin, French President Francois Hollande expressed satisfaction during a meeting in Paris with the outcome of the Mistral deal saying it met the interests of both sides, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Friday.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Russia and France officially terminated the 1.2 billion euro ($1.3 billion at current exchange rates) contract on the delivery of the warships in August following French President Francois Hollande’s suspension of the supply late last year over the Ukrainian conflict.

"[The presidents] expressed satisfaction with the settlement of the issue of Mistral warships. The satisfaction with the fact that the settlement met the interests of all the stakeholders," Peskov told reporters.

“[The sides] also expressed the hope that the spirit of mutual understanding and partnership that prevailed during the settlement of the Mistral problem will also accompany Paris and Moscow in resolution of other issues that are on the agenda of bilateral relations," the spokesman said.
