NEW YORK (Sputnik) — The approval rating for US Senator Charles Schumer has dropped to the lowest level since 2000, according to the latest Quinnipiac University poll released on Tuesday.
"New York State voters approve 54-32 percent of the job US Sen. Charles Schumer is doing, his lowest score since a 51-18 percent rating May 2, 2000," Quinnipiac University said.
The poll found that the majority of New York voters opposed the agreement and 57 percent of voters believe it will make the world less safe.
"New York State voters agree with Sen. Charles Schumer’s opposition to the Iran nuclear deal, but that doesn’t stop the drop in his approval rating," Quinnipiac University Poll Assistant Director Maurice Carroll said.
The poll was conducted from September 10 to September 15, and surveyed 1,366 New York State voters.
