President Barack Obama should not be in charge of a secondhand car deal, let alone negotiations on free trade agreement, US presidential candidate Mike Huckabee said in a Twitter message on Thursday.

WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — On Wednesday, House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy said the US House of Representatives will vote on giving Obama the fast track negotiation authority after securing more votes on the legislation.

Fast track authority would enable the President to conduct free trade deals while the Congress could only vote on them without issuing amendments.

The Trade Promotion Authority (TPA) bill, or fast track authority, passed in the Senate on May 22, 2015, but faces an uncertain future in the House this month.

The Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) agreement is one of three trade agreements that Obama is currently negotiating with other countries.

The TPP if approved will be the world’s largest free trade deal, involving 12 countries from the Asia-Pacific region, including Australia, Japan, Mexico and Canada. The deal is expected to cover about 40 percent of the global economy.
