Russia's Pacific Fleet missile boats have carried out artillery drills in Primorsky Territory, a spokesman for the Russian Defense Ministry's Eastern Military District announced.

VLADIVOSTOK (Sputnik) – According to the spokesman, the firing drills were conducted in the Peter the Great Gulf.

"In accordance with the naval combat readiness plan of the sea ranges of the Pacific Fleet, a missile boat strike group…has successfully carried out joint artillery firing at targets simulating enemy warships and means of air attack," Vladimir Matveev said on Friday.

On Wednesday, Russia's Pacific Fleet anti-submarine corvettes carried out exercises on detecting and destroying a simulated enemy submarine as part of the ongoing drills off the coast of the Sakhalin Island in Russia's Far East.
