MADRID (Sputnik) – Police discovered uniforms and military accessories in three shipping containers — two in the capital of the autonomous community of Valencia and one in Algeciras, a port city in the south of Spain — all reportedly linked to an international network of companies.
These containers, apparently, were brought to Spain from Saudi Arabia, the El Pais newspaper claimed. At the same time, according to the daily, the uniforms, probably originating from one of the NATO countries, were supposed to be shipped to the Turkish port of Mersin, and then to be sent to the Bab al-Hawa, an international border crossing between Syria and Turkey.
The uniforms have been detected as a result of the searches that were conducted after the arrests in early February of seven people suspected of terrorist-related activities. The detainees allegedly provided logistical and financial support to terrorist groups operating in Syria and Iraq.
