Putin: Russia to Apply Precision-Guided Weapons if Threatened

Russia has to modernize its army with precision-guided and high-tech weapons to catch up with the defense technologies development, President Vladimir Putin said on Sunday.

VLADIVOSTOK (Sputnik) — The Russian leader said that the country would apply this arsenal if threatened, to ensure its security.

"In general, all our partners, at least at an expert level, are aware that Russia possesses such [precision-guided] weapons," Putin said in an interview with Russia’s Rossiya-1 television channel.

"… Russia has the will to apply it [precision-guided weapons] if it is in line with the national interests of the state and the Russian people," he added.
