MOSCOW (Sputnik) — A motorized rifle brigade deployed in Orenburg region has been put on high alert for combat readiness inspection Wednesday, the Central Military District said.
“Russia’s Central Military District’s motorized rifle brigade based in Orenburg region has been put on high alert and started executing operational and training tasks,” district's press service said in a statement.
The exercises are being held at Totsky military range.
On March 24 Russia has completed large-scale combat readiness drills in Western, Southern and Eastern Military Districts. About 80,000 troops, and thousands of units of equipment took part in the drills.
The Russian Defense Ministry has announced plans to conduct at least 4,000 military exercises throughout the country in 2015.
