Some people have been injured in the blast, according to SANA. According to preliminary reports, the explosion of the car bomb, a Suzuki, caused the death of the driver and injured 4 other people.

A video captured at the scene shows people milling around a street while the wreckage smoulders on the ground.
Meanwhile, the Syrian TV broadcaster reported that sappers had defused another explosive device found in Latakia.
The incident took place only two days after an explosion hit near the Syrian capital of Damascus, reportedly, without injuries.
On 16 January, over 20 people were killed and more than a dozen others were injured as a result of a blast in the centre of the city of Manbij in Aleppo Governorate.
Later, the United States Central Command affirmed that four Americans had died as a result of the suicide attack.
