MOSCOW (Sputnik) — According to Al Arabiya, the suspects were members of a spy cell, providing secret information to the Iranian intelligence.

They were charged with treason of their country and king.

The suspects, reportedly trained in Iran and Lebanon, were also accused of undermining Saudi Arabia’s economic interests and public order, spreading chaos, carrying out hostile acts against the country, recruiting people for espionage, as well as possessing weapons and forging documents.

In June, Saudi Arabia detained 32 people for allegedly having links with Iran.
