Two Improvised Explosive Devices Defused in Cairo

Egyptian specialists have defused two improvised explosive devices planted under a bridge in one of the districts of the capital of Cairo.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — According to the Sada El Balad broadcaster, the suspicious objects, which were later confirmed as explosive devices, were found near the Boulak al-Dakrour district.

Police are reportedly searching the area.

Earlier this month, reports emerged that the Daesh terrorist group, which is outlawed in Russia, was preparing to relocate itself from Iraq and Syria to Jordan, Turkey and Egypt. According to the Moroccan Center for Strategic Studies (CMES), around 1,200 Egyptians have joined Daesh ranks since late 2014.
