ANKARA (Sputnik) Two people have died and 16 were injured in an explosion near southern Turkey's province of Adana, Governor Mahmut Demirtas said Thursday.

"Two people have died in the explosion, 16 people are injured," Demirtas said in a statement.

A woman is believed to have carried out an explosion at a parking lot near the governor building in southern Turkey's Adana province, Governor Mahmut Demirtas said Thursday.

"A car was blown up this morning at the entrance to the administration building. A woman is suspected of committing the terrorist act," Demirtas said as quoted by Turkey's NTV broadcaster.
