"During the meeting [the sides] discussed the relevant issues in the sphere of countering international terrorism, including preventing terrorist acts and suppressing terrorist funding. Common approaches to the fight against the IS and other leading international terrorist groups," the foreign ministry said in a statement.
According to the statement, the sides exchanged their views on the ways of preventing the further spread of terrorist ideas and considered the present state of the terrorist threat in various regions, including Afghanistan, South Asia and the Middle East.
On Monday, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov and Aslam discussed arms control and non-proliferation of weapons of mass destruction during a consultative group meeting in Moscow.
