ANKARA (Sputnik) — Akar will take part in the meeting of the heads of the general staffs of the member countries of the US-led coalition, Turkey's NTV television channel reported.
The coalition includes 65 countries, including Turkey.
The Daesh terrorist group, outlawed in the United States, Russia and numerous other countries throughout the world, has taken control of vast areas in Iraq and Syria. The radical Sunni group and its affiliates have claimed responsibility for numerous terrorist attacks carried out in various parts of the world, including the July 14 Nice attack and the March 22 Brussels attacks.
The US-led coalition has been conducting anti-Daesh airstrikes in Syria and Iraq since 2014. The strikes in Syria, however, are not authorized by the government of Assad or by the United Nations Security Council.
