Abu Dhabi Bans Use of Textbook Calling Palestinians Terrorists

The UAE Ministry of Education has ordered a number of private schools to stop using a schoolbook that calls the Palestinians terrorists.

DUBAI (Sputnik) — The ministry has carried out an investigation of the network of the Lebanese international schools Choueifat to confirm the received information about the use of the textbook, the content of which allegedly contradicts religious and national values of the United Arab Emirates, and then ordered to immediately cease its use, the Al Emarat al-Youm newspaper reported, citing a ministerial official.

The schoolbook turned out not to be certified by the Ministry of Education, while schools did not receive permission for using it.

The ministry plans to hold schools’ administrations responsible for such a gross mistake, according to the newspaper.
