MOSCOW (Sputnik) — The Russia-US brokered ceasefire regime in Syria came into force on February 27. The al-Nusra Front and the Daesh terrorist groups, which are outlawed in Russia, are not part of the ceasefire deal.
"The cessation of hostilities in Syria has been respected in most of Syrian provinces. However, a total of seven violations of the ceasefire regime have been registered in Damascus (6) and Latakia (1) provinces," the ministry said in a daily bulletin posted on its website.
Total of 337 Settlements Have Joined Syrian Ceasefire
The number of settlements that have joined the ceasefire regime in Syria has increased to 337, the Russian Defense Ministry said Tuesday.
"Within the last 24 hours, truce agreements have been reached with representatives of eight settlements in As-Suwayda (4), Latakia (2) and Homs (2) provinces, bringing the total number of settlements that have joined ceasefire to 337," the ministry said in a daily bulletin posted on its website.
According to the document, negotiations on joining ceasefire regime have been continued with field commanders of armed opposition units operating in Damascus, Hama and Latakia provinces.
