Déjà Vu? 'West Prepares Libyan Scenario for Syria'
MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Earlier in the day, Syria’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations Bashar Jaafari, who is also the head of Damascus' delegation at the intra-Syrian settlement talks, said that the Syrian government was concerned about attempts by terrorist organizations and their sponsors to undermine the political resolution of the Syrian conflict.

"Syria reiterates that chaotic terror attacks on the residential areas of Aleppo and the suicide bombing near the entrance to Ziyabia settlement on the outskirts of Damascus will not stop continuation of anti-terror struggle and the ongoing work to find a political solution to a crisis in Syria through intra-Syrian dialogue," the statement reads.

Syria has been mired in civil war since 2011, with government forces fighting numerous opposition groups, including the Western-backed allegedly moderate factions, as well as terrorist groups, such as al-Nusra and Daesh, which are outlawed in a number of countries, including Russia, among others.

Damascus, as well as several opposition delegations, participate in multi-round UN-mediated negotiations aimed at settlement of the ongoing civil war in the Middle Eastern nation.
