A bomb attack in Turkey's southeastern Mardin province allegedly carried out by the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) militants wounded six police officers, local media reported on Saturday.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) According to the Anadolu news agency, the bomb was detonated on the Mardin-Diyarbakir highway under an armored police vehicle.

Since last summer, clashes between the Turkish government and the PKK, the Kurdish pro-independence organization considered to be terrorist by Ankara, have claimed the lives of over 350 soldiers and police officers and over 5,000 Kurdish insurgents, according to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
