MOSCOW (Sputnik) – On Monday, the Russian General Staff said that the ceasefire regime has been generally holding in Syria.
However, al-Nusra Front terrorist group has deployed up to 10,000 militants near the Syrian city of Aleppo ahead of a major offensive, according to Russian military.
Russia has asked the United States to curb massing of militants near Aleppo, according to Lt. Gen. Segey Rudskoy.
“We [Russia] and I announce completely responsibly since the tight interactions with the Russian Defense Ministry in strict compliance with the cessation of hostilities regime and contact that the military hold, as well as with other representatives of other US and Russian structures, inarguably confirm that the number of ceasefire violations has decreased and situations where force is used is called forward exclusively because of actions by terrorist groups,” Ryabkov told journalists.
A US-Russia-brokered ceasefire came into force across Syria on February 27. It was supported by Damascus, as well as by dozens of opposition groups on the ground. Daesh and al-Nusra Front terrorists were not part of the deal.
