GENEVA (Sputnik) – Egeland said six besieged areas had not been reached yet, but expressed confidence the UN task force would be able to reach 18 total areas.
"In the four weeks since then we had the following progress: 10 areas have been reached by the UN and partners, several of them with multiple convoys," Egeland said.
"I bring you greetings from Syria, from Damascus, where the cessation of hostilities now reaching 2 weeks, ruptured with violations and incidents, but still holding, and it’s making a direct impact on the lives of millions of Syrians inside the country," El Hillo said.
On February 22, Moscow and Washington announced an agreement on a Syrian ceasefire, reached in accordance with the International Syria Support Group (ISSG) communique. The ceasefire took effect on on February 27 and is generally holding across the country despite reported violations.
