Officer Dies, 6 Injured in North Jordan Clashes With Militants - Source

A Jordanian security officer was killed in clashes with militants in a counterterror raid in the northern city of Irbid near the Israeli border, security sources told Sputnik early Wednesday.

AMMAN (Sputnik) –Several militants are reported to be killed in a counterterror raid, according to the sources.

"The number of terrorists hiding in one of the homes in Irbid reached around 75 people, several militants were killed and wounded. They plotted hostile acts in Jordan," an unnamed security official said.

Jordan’s Petra news service cited police sources as saying a captain was killed alongside four "outlaws" in a major crackdown in Irbid.
