"In Syria, coalition military forces conducted 14 strikes using ground-attack, attack and fighter aircraft against ISIL [Daesh] targets," CENTCOM stated. "Additionally in Iraq, coalition military forces conducted four strikes coordinated with and in support of the Government of Iraq using fighter aircraft against ISIL [Daesh] targets."
Fourteen airstrikes near five Syrian cities, including Hasakah, Manbij and Dayr Az Zawr, were undertaken on February 23. The aerial attacks destroyed tactical units, buildings, as well as a gas and oil separation plant, according to the press release.
Daesh has been designated as a terrorist group and is outlawed in the United States, Russia, among other countries. The infamous group has seized large areas in Syria and Iraq and declared a caliphate on territories under its control.
