At Least Five People Injured in Tel Aviv Pub Shooting

At least 1 individual was killed and eight others sustained injuries in a shooting at a pub located in central Tel Aviv on Friday afternoon, Israeli medical personnel said.

Local security forces and emergency teams have already arrived at the site on the corner of Dizengoff and Gordon streets.

"Paramedics render assistance to eight victims, one of them is in critical condition, two — in serious. One person was killed," the emergency service told RIA Novosti.

The attacker has fled the scene, a police spokesman said, adding that local law enforcement agencies were finding out whether the incident was a terror attack.

The suspect who attacked the pub on the corner of Dizengoff and Gordon streets is said to be armed with a gun.

"The police officers cordoned off the area, looking for the assailant. At present, we cannot say with certainty whether it was a terrorist act or a criminal offense, " Superintendent Micky Rosenfeld told RIA Novosti.

The probe into the attack is currently ongoing.
