    Attacks on Shia Pilgrims Kill 15, Injure 38 in Baghdad

    At least 15 people were killed and 38 were injured as a result of two blasts in the Iraqi capital Baghdad, media reports suggest Tuesday.

    MOSCOW (Sputnik) According to Al Jazeera, the Monday explosions targeted Shiite Muslims engaged in an annual religious pilgrimage.

    According to the broadcaster, one of the bombings took place at a checkpoint located along a route used by pilgrims going to the holy city of Karbala for the "Arbaeen," a Shia Muslim religious commemoration.

    A second blast occurred in the Shaab neighborhood located in the northern part of Baghdad, the broadcaster said, citing police.

    No responsibility has been claimed in the attacks.
