MOSCOW (Sputnik) — The news comes a day after French Prime Minister Manuel Valls warned that all those in Islamic State (ISIL) jihadist group camps should know that they could be hit the following day, according to the channel.
In late September, the French Air Force launched airstrikes on militants positions in Syria for the first time as part of a US-led international coalition that has been targeting ISIL positions in the country, as well as in Iraq, since 2014.
Syria has been involved in a civil war since 2011, with the government fighting against several opposition factions and extremist groups, such as ISIL and the Nusra Front.
