Palestinians Clash With Jerusalem Police Near al-Aqsa Mosque
MOSCOW (Sputnik) – An individual was shot in the leg with a Ruger American Rifle in the West Bank village of Aboud. Six others sustained similar injuries in an adjacent area, the exact location of which was not specified.

Earlier in the day, the Knesset, the Israeli parliament, authorized the country's military to call up extra border patrol reservists in response to escalating tensions in the region.

Clashes in the area flared in recent times after Israeli police launched a late-night search operation for hidden explosives in contested East Jerusalem.

On September 15, Palestinian youths again barricaded themselves inside the al-Aqsa mosque, from where they threw stones at Israeli security forces.

The following day, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced tougher measures against those who throw stones during street clashes.
