Iran's Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Marzieh Afkham called the Saudi-led campaign against the Houthi insurgency in Yemen genocide.
"Such actions … go counter to the international conventions," the spokeswoman said, adding that the coalition uses "unconventional weapons intended to increase the number of the casualties."
Afkham called on the United Nations to put an end to the airstrike campaign and let humanitarian aid in Yemen. On Sunday morning, the Houthis agreed to a five day humanitarian ceasefire proposed by Saudi Arabia.
On Sunday evening, in coordination with the International Committee of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Authority of Saudi Arabia, Oman and Djibouti Iran planned to send a ship carrying humanitarian aid, including food and medicine, to the war-stricken country.
