Department of Health spokesman Abdel Wahab Shalyabi said, the “dismissal of the director of hospital of Shark Arafat in Mecca is due to his published tweets, which are contrary to the policy of the state." Shalyabi added that the director’s twitter account has been blocked by the authorities.
The representative of the Ministry of Health, Khaled Murgalyani, further said that "the department is interested in the implementation of laws of the kingdom by all the co-workers" and their "commitment to Saudi values and social norms."
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has consistently supported the opponents of Assad. According to some reports, Riyadh is backing the rebels with money and weapons.
