Paris Terror Attack an Attempt to Escalate Islamophobia: Minister
MOSCOW, January 15 (Sputnik) — Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu on Thursday compared the actions of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to the recent terror attack in Paris.

"Netanyahu has committed crimes against humanity the same like those terrorists who carried out the Paris massacre," Davutoglu told reporters in televised comments, The Guardian reported.

The Turkish prime minister was referring to the 2010 assault on a Turkish aid vessel, which was stormed by Israeli commandos en route to the Gaza Strip. Nine Turks lost their lives in the raid, with one more still in critical condition after a four-year-long coma. Netanyahu was in power during the incident.

The Israeli government "massacred our citizens by launching an operation against an aid ship in international waters," Davutoglu said.

Another "crime against humanity" cited by Davutoglu is last year's Gaza Strip assault. According to him, Netanyahu was "the head of a government which massacred children playing in the beaches in Gaza and destroyed thousands of houses."

The prime minister's comments come less than a week after Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan slammed Netanyahu for attending an anti-terrorism demonstration in Paris last week despite "[carrying] out state terrorism" himself.

In response to the criticism, the Israeli prime minister said Wednesday that the global community should refute the Turkish president's "shameful remarks."
