Jet With 118 Passengers Makes Unscheduled Landing in Peru Over False Bomb Threat – Video

BUENOS AIRES (Sputnik) – A plane with 118 passengers on board has made an unscheduled landing in the Peruvian city of Pisco over a false bomb threat, the national Ministry of Transport said.

"On late Friday, 24 January, LATAM [airline] flight LA2121, which was heading from Lima to Juliaca landed over a bomb threat. The crew decided to make a landing at the airport … of Pisco", the ministry said in a statement.

The plane successfully landed at 20:50 GMT, with all the passengers having been evacuated from the aircraft.

​Police officers are working at the site, while passengers and crew members remain at the airport's terminal.

La Dirección General de Aeronáutica Civil de Perú (DGAC), informó que la tarde de este viernes tuvo conocimiento de una amenaza de bomba durante el vuelo de la Latam Airlines proveniente de Juliaca con destino a Lima. Ante esto, el avión tuvo que realizar un aterrizaje de emergencia en el Aeropuerto de Pisco conforme a los protocolos establecidos. La aeronave con 118 pasajeros a bordo aterrizó con normalidad cerca de las 03:00 p.m. Todos los usuarios fueron evacuados de acuerdo con los procedimientos establecidos.
