Mexico Citizens Block Roads in Protest Against Mass Kidnappings
03:01 GMT 13.01.2016 (Updated: 11:12 GMT 06.08.2022) Dozens of Mexican residents have blocked roads in the Mexican state of Guerrero to protests against the abduction of their relatives, local media reported.
MEXICO (Sputnik) — According to the protesters, 17 members of one Mexican family were abducted Saturday in the Tierra Caliente region on their way to a wedding, after a group of armed men attacked them, the Proceso news portal said Tuesday.
The region is notorious for a tense criminal environment due to numerous gangs fighting for control over the drug trade.
