MEXICO (Sputnik) — Col. Johnny Rojas is suspected of granting a prisoner’s request to hold the party in October at the Palmasola penitentiary, Guzman said, as broadcast by the Televisia channel.
"Rojas was dismissed because he could have given the permission for a celebration at the request of one of the prisoners. The prosecutor's office is investigating whether the event was connected with the birthday of former Gen. Oscar Nina" Guzman said.
According to the media, musicians were present at the event in prison. The case was launched after several of the inmates complained about the loud music, the media reported.
Bolivia’s former top drug cop was arrested and jailed in March along with his son, also a police official, on suspicion of illicit enrichment and ties to narcotics trafficking.
