The presidents of Russia and Turkey have met in Moscow to discuss the current situation in war-ravaged Syria, and the US decision to pull out its servicemen from the country.

On 23 January, Recep Tayyip Erdogan holds joint press conference with Russian President Vladimir Putin after talks that were held during his visit to the Russian capital. Apart from the Syrian issue, the two presidents discussed bilateral cooperation in trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian areas.
