Just over a third, or 36 percent, of people in France are satisfied with the work of French President Emmanuel Macron 100 days after he took office, the latest poll showed on Friday.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — According to an Ifop poll cited by Le Figaro newspaper, only 23 percent of respondents believe that France is currently moving in the right direction.

"The advantages of presidential and parliamentary elections, political reshuffling with the appointment of right-wingers to the government or the establishment of the group in the National Assembly, the political positioning of the President of the Republic have vanished. It seems that even the announcement of holding the Olympic Games in Paris has not had a positive effect. French are waiting for the results and clarification of the reforms," Jerome Fourquet, the director of the Public Opinion Department at Ifop, was quoted as saying in the publication.

The greatest dissatisfaction among the public was caused by the president's decision to reduce personal housing grants, with 60 percent of respondents dissatisfied with the reform.

"What French are concerned with is that they will have lower personal housing grants, that tobacco prices increase to 10 euros [$11], that the universal social security tax will grow. Today and right now. Not with the fact that the housing system will be reformed or that contributions will decline tomorrow," Fourquet explained.

Le Figaro newspaper did not specify when and among whom the survey was conducted.
