MOSCOW (Sputnik) — On January 30, the security officers working in the Manchester airport found a suspicious device in the luggage of Nadeem Muhammad trying to come on board of Italy-bound flight of the Ryanair airline. However, Muhamad was released after questioning. The device was examined by the experts only on February 8 and soon after that the Italian citizen was detained.
According to the ITV broadcaster, the jury returned its verdict by a majority of votes after more than 15 hours of deliberations.
Muhammad is expected to be sentenced on August 23, the news outlet added.
The countries around the world have tightened security measures amid growing terror threat and a number of deadly incidents involving aircraft, such as the crash of the Airbus A321 plane flying to St. Petersburg over the Sinai Peninsula, which is regarded as a terror attack by Russian security services.
