    Security at Christmas markets in France will be reinforced with immediate effect after the attack at a Berlin Christmas market, according to the statement of the French Interior Ministry' spokesman.

    MOSCOW (Sputnik) — In response to the attack at a Berlin Christmas market Monday, the French Interior Ministry intends to strengthen the internal security measures in the country, a spokesman for the ministry said Tuesday.

    "All security forces will keep to a maximum level of vigilance. Security at Christmas markets will be reinforced with immediate effect," the spokesman said, as quoted by the Daily Express newspaper.

    The truck, which rammed into a crowd of people at a Christmas market in Berlin late on Monday, killed at least 12 and injured almost 50 people. The police confirmed that the truck-ramming was intentional.
