    Thomas Mair was found guilty of murdering UK Labour Party lawmaker Jo Cox, local media reported.

    MOSCOW (Sputnik) – Thomas Mair was found guilty on Wednesday of murdering UK Labour Party lawmaker Jo Cox in June, local media reported.

    ​Cox, 41, was stabbed and shot in the street by Mair as she was holding a regular public meeting with constituents in her home town of Birstall in West Yorkshire. The incident occurred on June 16 – just several days before the referendum on Brexit.

    According to The Guardian newspaper, Mair made no efforts to defend himself during the seven-day-long hearing.
