Dodon Leads in Moldovan Presidential Election With 58.1% as 68.96% Votes Counted

Socialist Party's Igor Dodon is leading in the second round of Moldova's presidential election after almost 69 percent of votes counted, the country's Central Election Commission said in a Sunday statement.

CHISINAU (Sputnik) — Dodon's rival of the Liberal Democratic Party, Maia Sandu, has won 41.9 percent of votes at the moment.

"Igor Dodon wins 58.1 percent or 480,185 votes; [opposition candidate from Action and Solidarity Party] Maia Sandu wins 41.9 percent or 346,308 votes," the statement said.
