The director of the National Cyber Crime Unit at the British National Crime Agency (NCA), Jamie Saunders, called on the government to introduce a new program which aims at educating kids about cybercrimes in order to prevent them from breaking the law online, The Guardian newspaper reported.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — The program dubbed "Cyber Prevent" will target young people from the age of 12 to 25 and it could involve the collaboration with a network of regional specialists and companies while also working with parents so they could also keep an eye on their children activities online.

“We need education for schools on the [1990] Computer Misuse Act, on what it is and isn’t [a cybercrime]. A lot of kids do not realize they are committing a crime,” Saunders said, as cited by The Guardian.

Saunders said that the program could also help them in finding and recruiting tech-savvy young adults that could help them combat cybercrimes and earn money legitimately.

Saunders became director of the national cybercrime unit on April 25, 2014. Before that he worked at the Foreign Office, where he was director of international cyber policy.
