"The heads of government of Russia, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan will consider a number of key issues of the integration agenda of the Eurasian Economic Union. It is planned to discuss the draft of the new Customs Code of the Eurasian Economic Union, to approve the draft budget of the union for 2017, to sign the protocol on the extension of the Agreement on implementation in 2015 — 2016 of the pilot project on introduction of marking of goods control (identification) signs," the Russian government said in a statement.
"The emphasis will also be put on the development of trade and economic cooperation with third countries and integration associations, prioritizing negotiations with the key partners of the Union," the Cabinet's press service highlighted in the statement.
On Tuesday, Medvedev said that the preparation of a new Customs Code of the Eurasian Economic Union was nearing completion, and there was a need to ensure that all members had equally favorable and convenient conditions.
The Russian prime minister stressed the need to create an effective system of customs regulation, considering the fact that the EEU was living within the boundaries of a single economic space of five countries. According to him, the issue was serious, but not surprising for the countries that belonged to integration associations.
In early October, Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev said that the preparation of the new Customs Code would be completed in 2016.
