    A strong 5.4-magnitude earthquake hit Central Italy and Rome. There is no immediate reports of damage.

    ​On August 24, a 6.0-magnitude quake shook central Italy, causing damage across the regions of Umbria, Lazio and Marche and resulting in the deaths of over 290 people. The earthquake was followed by multiple aftershocks.
