Kiev does not consider a possibility of holding elections in the breakaway Donbass republics, the spokeswoman for the Ukrainian envoy to the Trilateral Contact Group said.

KIEV (Sputnik) — The Ukrainian government believes it is unrealistic to hold local elections on Donbass territories not under its control, the spokeswoman for the Ukrainian envoy to the Trilateral Contact Group said Wednesday.

"Holding elections on the territory not controlled by the Ukrainian authorities, with a 40,000-strong group of foreign troops and a large number of weapons, does not seem possible," Darya Olifer wrote on Facebook.
