MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Latvia's State Border Guards detained Ella Taranova, chief producer of Rossiya Segodnya International Information Agency, who arrived in Riga to participate in the "Baltic Forum," and prepare her expulsion from the country, the executive director of the forum said on Friday.

"'The Baltic Forum,' where the relations between Russia, the Baltic states and the European Union are discussed, will start tomorrow on October 22. But today, the presentation of the 'Rough papers of the future' book… took place within the framework of the forum. Taranova was detained during the presentation, despite the fact that she had arrived in Latvia just before without any restrictions," Aleksander Vasilyev told RIA Novosti.

He added that Taranova had been blacklisted by the Latvian Foreign Ministry, but succeeded to enter the country, before the authorities had clarified the situation with the producer and detained her.

According to Vasilyev, Latvian authorities are planning to send Taranova to Moscow at 9 p.m. local time (18:00 GMT).

Tarasova said later on Friday that she was not aware of the blacklist.

"Apparently, I am on the list as of August 5, 2014, [which contains] some unfavorable people by security forces [of Latvia]. I knew nothing about this list, I was invited to the conference of the "Baltic Forum," the chief producer told RIA Novosti.
