MOSCOW (Sputnik) — On November 15, 2014, Jonathan Bridgeman and Deshan Laci sailed from the English port of Brighton to the French city of Dieppe in order to illegally transport 14 Albanians to the United Kingdom. However, their attempt failed, as the men, along with their passengers, were detained by the UK authorities.
Lewes Crown Court sentenced Bridgeman to 2.5 years and Laci to three years in prison, The Guardian reported, citing the Home Office.
The newspaper added that both defendants pleaded guilty in assisting unlawful immigration into the country.
